Memo to the GOP Campaign

I get them in the mail. You probably do to. Those request for donations from the RNC. Sometimes they come with an innocuous survey with no brainer questions like “Do you support a massive government run health care system? Check one Yes No

I usually just throw them out. Oh I intended to write a letter and give them a piece of my mind but somehow with the busy life I am leading it just didn’t get done. However I still wanted to and felt I NEEDED to send a strong message to the GOP. I know you feel the same and I know, like myself, that despite our best intent, there wasn’t the follow through.

So I decided how can I easily get my message to the GOP? How can you?

Well one picture is worth a thousand words…this graphic (below) is down-loadable and printable right off the site!

So next time you get one of those letters from the RNC asking for donations, all you have to do is print out, and return in the conveniently post-paid envelope supplied to you by the RNC!

Share with your friends, lets get thousands upon thousands of these to the RNC! Send the message..WAKE UP GOP!

David vs. Goliah: Battling Special Rights and the Radical Homosexaul Agenda

There is a battle going on right there in Michigan that many know have not heard of but the results in just a mere 8 DAYS could very well affect everyone in Michigan.

The battle is over special rights for homosexuals in Kalamazoo, Ordinance 1865

For a full analysis of What will Ordinance 1865 do?

Basically it is another attempt by homosexual activists for special rights… to FORCE BY LAW, EVERYONE else to accept, approve, and endorse their choices. And since the ordinance, includes ‘gender identity’, this legally recognizes an individual defining himself as the opposite sex, in this case male transgendered could “legally” use woman’s bathrooms, locker rooms and showers.

And they are well funded by Kalamazoo billionaire homosexual activist Jon Stryker and other out of state groups.

From MLive:

By Kathy Jessup | Kalamazoo Gazette
October 24, 2009, 9:10AM

KALAMAZOO — A political interest group supporting an anti-discrimination (notice that they call it anti-discrimination when its not) ordinance on the city’s Nov. 3 ballot has raised a possible record campaign war chest for a Kalamazoo County election.

Based on pre-election campaign-finance reports filed Friday with the Kalamazoo County Clerk’s Office, One Kalamazoo has raised nearly $350,000 in cash and in-kind contributions, more than 10 times the $34,000 reported by Kalamazoo Citizens Voting NO to Special Rights Discrimination, a group opposing the proposed ordinance.

“If it’s not a record, it’s certainly right up there,” said Kalamazoo County Clerk Tim Snow….

While Hoadley said 77 percent of the group’s donations were for $50 or less, One Kalamazoo’s report shows some five-figure contributions, most from donors with addresses outside Michigan.

For example, the Washington, D.C.-based National Gay and Lesbian Task Force made the largest, single in-kind contribution, spending nearly $75,000 on behalf of the Kalamazoo campaign for “donated labor” and “travel, lodging and printing.”

A South Dakota gay-rights activist sent a check for $35,000. A Colorado-based organization chipped in $5,000.

Kalamazoo philanthropist(code for radical homosexual agenda) and gay (homosexual)-rights supporter Jon Stryker also has had a substantial imprint on One Kalamazoo’s financing.

The financial reports show that Stryker made a $30,000 cash contribution to the group and paid for nearly $23,000 in polling services as an in-kind donation.

Locally, the Kalamazoo County Democratic Party contributed $10,200 to the pro-ordinance effort.

One Kalamazoo says its spent about $122,000, much of that on professional campaign firms in the Lansing and Washington, D.C., areas.

Both groups may continue to raise and spend money on their campaigns. Final spending totals are not due to be reported until Dec. 3.

Bottom line: Help is needed in Kalamazoo. If this passes expect to be fighting it in your backyard

Taxed to Death on Michigan Doctors AND What Canadians Want You To Know About Their Health Care System

Courtesy of Mackinac Center for Public Policy

SIDEBAR: Michigan House-Senate Conference Committee, which is looking for ways to erase a $2.8 billion budget deficit for fiscal 2010, is considering imposing a 3 percent Gross provider tax on more than 15,000 physicians who practice in the state.

The possible physician tax, known as a Quality Assurance Assessment Program fee, would be used to increase federal matching share dollars for the state’s Medicaid program. For every $1 the state raises, the federal government matches with another $1.72.

If this tax is implemented the affect will be many doctors leaving the state and result in a reduced quality of care for Michigan citizens. How many have we lost in recent years? Something close to 500,000 of our best educated and most skilled people. “Taxed to Death” takes on an ominous meaning here..

This has already passed the House (HB 5386) and will be headed for the Senate
as SB 0854

PLEASE CALL your Senator and tell them not to TAX our doctors!

AFTER ACTION REPORT:Michigan Patriots Deliver Pink Slip to Liberal Debbie Stabenow

IMG_3336Grassroots in Michigan organized and was joined by Tea Party of West Michigan Southwest MI Tea Party Patriotsand other patriots from across Michigan to protest and deliver a Pink Slip to liberal tool Debbie Stabenow with a message, “we will do everything in our power to make sure Sen. Stabenow does not return to office in 2012” Debbie Stabenow is a lock step liberal who was on the Senate Finance Committee that voted the Baucus Amendment out. Please take a minute to read the most egregious parts of the Baucus Amendment AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POST because you won’t hear the truth from Debbie!

What is in the Baucus Health Care Amendment

Setting Brush Fires…Why not Filibuster?

It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds. Samuel Adams

Finance committee vote on Baucus bill scheduled for this coming Tuesday….
This is crunch time folks. We need to flood the Finance Committee members with faxes, phones, call and e-mails (least effective)

Here is a link to all members of the Finance Committee and their contact information

Debbie Stabenow is on the Committee. She needs to be flooded with e-mails and faxes and pink slips! Turn you e-mail or fax into a pink slip! YOU’RE DONE DEBBIE!

What happens when the Baucus bill gets out of committee?

Washington Examiner Opinion

“Whatever the content of the Baucus bill once it is voted out of the finance committee, it will disappear into a legislative black hole as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and their key aides do what they did on the economic stimulus package back in February — huddle together behind closed doors to write the final bill, which will then be presented as a fait accompli in the form of a conference report. Everything else is mere sound and fury signifying nothing until Harry and Nancy do their thing in the dark.”

From FedUpUsa

Nicholas Ballasy reports “a senior aide to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) told CNSNews.com that it is ‘likely’ that Reid will use H.R. 1586—a bill passed by the House in March to impose a 90-percent tax on bonuses paid to employees of certain bailed-out financial institutions—as a ‘shell’ for enacting the final version of the Senate’s health care bill, which Reid is responsible for crafting.”

This procedure is the same unconstitutional procedure they used to pass the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act (EESA) back in November to give Hank Paulson his ‘$700 Billion Bazooka.’

Article I, Sec. 7: ALL bills for raising revenue will originate in the House.

They are doing exactly what they did with EESA/TARP – by passing the house by putting the HC bill on a revenue bill. This results in the Senate originating a revenue bill!

Washington DC must be shut down now. We are about to lose our country entirely.

Stephanie S. Jasky, Founder, Director

I agree with Stephanie, we must call/fax AND we need to include top Republicans/Conservatives. They SHOULD be shouting this from the roof tops and planning a Senate filibuster
Why aren’t they????

Senate filibuster from “The Making of America, the substance and meaning of the Constitution” by W. Cleon Skousen…

…the principled devise for is for a small group of Senators to get con troll of the floor and talk in tandem for long periods of time. The whole object is a delaying action”

In 1935, Huey Long of LA (Democrat) held the Senate floor for 15 hours while he read form the telephone book, a mail order catalog and the newspaper. The longest filibuster on record is that of Strom Thurmond of SC (when he was a Democrat) He held the Senate floor in 1957 for twenty-four hours

CRS-20
The Impact of Filibusters

Obviously, a filibuster has the greatest impact on the Senate when a 60-vote majority cannot be assembled to invoke cloture. In that case, the measure or other matter that is being filibustered is doomed unless its opponents relent and allow the Senate to vote on it. Even if cloture is invoked, however, a filibuster can significantly affect how, when, and even whether the Senate conducts its legislative and executive business. In fact, it is not an exaggeration to say that filibusters and the prospect of filibusters shape much of the way in which the Senate does its work on the floor

Why shouldn’t Republicans/Conservatives filibuster now? Is there less at stake then in the past? Wouldn’t that get press and therefore give them an opportunity to expose the plan to more Americans?

So the Democrats/Liberal/Fascists can use cloture to stop the filibuster but it takes 60% of the Senate, every Democrat and both Independents and…. time

“The votes of only 51 Senators are needed to pass a bill on the floor. It can, however, require the votes of 60 Senators to invoke cloture on the bill in order to overcome a filibuster and enable the Senate to reach that vote on final passage.”

Conservatives can use the filibuster to our country’s benefit, to tell the American people why they are doing it. The Democrats/Liberal/Fascists can counter with the “Nuclear Option”

But would they? They want bi-partisan, or at least the illusion of it and if they do go ahead with a Nuclear Option, Republican/Conservatives can counter…Democrats/Liberal/Fascists squashed debate again, rammed through another massive government control spending bill. They wanted this thing; we didn’t want any part of it!

Either way this bill is going to get passed because the “usual suspect” RINOS will defect (think Olympia Snowe) but it could be in lesser form and with the Republicans/Conservatives showing that they did everything to stop another massive spending bill of over a trillion dollars coupled with a government take over of our liberties! In other words, their job.

Lets’ face it what do they have to lose?
Republicans/Conservatives have been shut out, disregarded and disrespected 37 ways to Sunday by this administration, especially by Pelosi and Reid. Remember Pelosi hissed, “We Won” and then proceeded (excuse my language) to bitch slap the Republicans/Conservatives around.

We have had tea parties, calls/faxes e-mails, taken to the streets, counter-protested, gave and went to Town Halls, blogged, YouTubed, we have went toe-to toe and sometimes face-to-face with the opposition. And worked over time because we know it takes ACTION!

I want to see some courageous forget-about-my-career action from The Hill!

Where is our William Wallace?

Instead of focusing on the opposition entirely, perhaps we need to focus and demand that those on our side have a tea party of their own!!

The very future of our country is at stake…TEA PARTY ON THE HILL!

AFTER ACTION REPORT: Committee Hearings on SCR 4, SR 17, HCR 6 and SR 73

It was a packed room Tuesday for a Judiciary Committee hearing on SR17, SCR 4, and SR 73

A resolution to affirm Michigan’s sovereignty under the 10th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not enumerated and granted to the federal government.

SCR 4 (Patterson) A concurrent resolution to affirm Michigan’s sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not enumerated and granted to the federal government.

Patriots from Campaign for Liberty of Wayne and Livingston County were there as well as yours truly representing Grassroots in Michigan, representatives from Tea Party of West Michigan as well as others from across the state came to give testimony and support of the resolutions.

In addition Congressman Pete Hoekstra gave testimony for SR 73 “a resolution to memorialize the United States Congress to make certain intelligence information regarding Guantanamo Bay detention camp detainees available to the Governor and Michigan State Legislature.”

In regards to with whether the Standish maximum security prison should house Guantanamo Bay prisoners. and Senator Tom George submitted written testimony and implored Governor Granholm to keep discussions open with the federal government.

Both Hoekstra and George are Republican candidates for governor. Congressman Pete Hoekstra the ranking Republican on the U.S. House Intelligence Committee, says the state doesn’t know enough about Guantanamo prisoners to make an informed decision and the danger they would impose on not just Standish but to the state. Additionally, the promise of jobs for Standish may be a moot point as the prison would be a Federal facility with Federal employees already employed by the Federal government. Senator Bruce Patterson (a Republican candidate for Attorney General) made the wry observation that Michigan has spend millions on its “Pure Michigan” campaign to bring others to the state and a prison for terrorists hardly fits the criteria for enticing people to Michigan. Here, here Senator!

The “unusual Liberal suspects” voiced their usual Liberal mantra of obfuscation and lack of knowledge.

Sen. Gretchen Whitmer, D-East Lansing, the committee’s minority vice chair, took a more neutral stance saying state officials need all the facts and realize while Hoekstra’s views are based on experience they are only opinions.
“I would hope that before we say yes or no we would have a full understanding of what to expect,” Whitmer said.

Hmmm let’s see Pete Hoekstra, the ranking GOP member of the U.S. House Intelligence Committee, “opinions” are pretty solid Ms Whitmer since he is privy to information that you are not and THAT is what SR 73 was about, obtaining more information.

Meanwhile downstairs, the Transportation Committee was hearing testimony on passage of House Concurrent Resolution No. 6.(Opsommer)

A concurrent resolution to memorialize the President, the Congress, and the Department of Homeland Security of the United States to change requirements, agreements, and memorandums of understanding relating to the creation of Enhanced Drivers Licenses.

Whereas, The Department of Homeland Security is currently requiring that any state that wishes to create an Enhanced Drivers License (EDL) as a result of passage of the federal Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) must create an EDL that incorporates what the federal government refers to as “facilitative technology.” This ambiguous term has been defined in practice to mean the incorporation of unencrypted, long-range, radio-wave computer chip technology that allows for a unique citizen identification number that can be passively read through wallets, purses, doors, and cars without the owner’s knowledge; and

Whereas, After Michigan made several attempts to create an EDL that would not need this technology, it became clear that the Department of Homeland Security would only allow Michigan the option to voluntarily abandon the entire EDL program, jeopardizing the state’s economy. The WHTI’s only true mandate was that Americans needed to prove their citizenship in order to reenter into the United States. Facilitative technology was never required by Congress, places technology contracts over security, and is an example of departmental overreach and encroachment onto states’ rights; and

Whereas, The driver license information of Michigan citizens would be shared with the governments of Canada and Mexico via the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) and EDL agreements. However, how it would be shared is ambiguous and needs to be defined so that we can ensure that potential corruption in foreign bureaucracies does not result in identity theft or other security concerns for U.S. citizens. There is currently little congressional oversight of the SPP, again placing a single department’s bureaucracy largely in charge of rules and regulations that significantly impact the states and their citizens; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the House of Representatives (the Senate concurring), That we memorialize the President, the Congress, and the Department of Homeland Security of the United States to change requirements, agreements, and memorandums of understanding relating to the creation of Enhanced Drivers Licenses to help address these concerns. We formally call for the Department of Homeland Security to change its rules so that EDLs can be created that do not need to contain what it characterizes as “facilitative technology”; and be it further

Resolved, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to the President of the United States Senate, the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, the Department of Homeland Security, and the members of the Michigan congressional delegation.

As many folks didn’t know about the Committee Meeting on HCR 6, I was busy handing out comment cards for passage of HCR 6 and running the filled out cards down to the Transportation Committee room.

After testimony and a vote, SR17, SCR 4, HCR 6 and SR 73 were all voted out of committee!

The testimony about Gitmo prisoners and HCR 6 dovetailed with the need for Michigan to assert her 10th Amendment sovereignty and as a means of breaking unconstitutional federal control over the States by basically bribing with money or the withholding of Federal money, which as one gentlemen from Campaign form Liberty pointed out the Federal government took from the states, to go in a direction that we can not or should not properly go. We Michiganders, the citizens who live here, work here, raise our families here and love Michigan are the best arbitrators to decide what is best for us and our state, not people in a far-away city called Washington D.C. and we are Constitutionally entitled to do so!

A good day for Michigan…onward…just in as of today SR 73 was ADOPTED AS SUBSTITUTED S-1 in the Senate
